Walks

Near the ancient town of Malpas, Cholmondeley Castle overlooks large landscaped grounds and water gardens, including the wonderful Temple Garden.

Malpas itself is a good base for country walks or cycle rides.

The picturesque village of Bunbury is a good place to start a cycle ride or walk along Cheshire's network of canals. Walk North to the staircase locks.

Delamere Forest Park, Cheshire's largest woodland, is a tranquil sanctuary for wildlife.

Riverside walks from Eccleston, through a varied landscape of meadows and woodland.

Alderley Edge is a lovely town, with good shops and restaurants and is a great start point for walks with fine views of the Cheshire plain. Visit Chorley Old Hall - the oldest manor house in the county. Literary connections
